To say we are fussy about our fish at Hook is an understatement. All our fish is MSC certified (which means it is from sustainable sources), and the very best quality. It is frozen at sea within hours of being caught ensuring the fish is as fresh when we cook it, as it was on the day it was caught.
Our Fish
Cod remains the number one choice of the great British public, thanks to its delicious, flaky white flesh and low fat content.Haddock, another lean white marine fish, is a superb source of protein and has a slightly sweet taste that wins its many fans.
Plaice is a type of flatfish with soft flesh and a mild flavour with a slight hint of sweetness: rich in vitamin B12, it is also a good source of vitamins A and D, as well as containing omega-3 fatty acids.
As part of a balanced diet and eaten in moderation, fish and chips make a natural, nutritious meal which is still good value for money and a valuable source of protein, fibre, iron and vitamins.
Our Tasty Chips
We use only British potatoes, for the simple reason that their texture is perfect for our freshly cut chips. We select only the best and once delivered to our kitchens, the Hook team prepares and freshly peel and chip the potatoes, which are then deep fried before being teamed up with their best mate … fish! We only use potatoes of the highest quality. Ideal chips should be crispy on the outside with a light fluffy centre.
Environmental Policy

PackagingOur bags, boxes, cutlery, sauce containers and drinks containers are mostly recyclable and we urge our customers to dispose of their packaging responsibly.
